Cross Country Skiing
Arlberg Area turns into a cross country ski dream during winter season, with a diverse cross country skiing trail system. From perfectly groomed tracks to smooth wide skating lanes – St. Anton has trails for every ability and the stunning snow-capped mountain vistas before you.
Winter Walking & Snowshoeing
Need a day off the slopes? Backcountry trails will take you into the surrounding wilderness, with chirping birds and your footsteps as the only sounds you’ll hear. A simple pair of winter boots or snowshoes can launch you into a winter wonderland with thickets of snow-laden trees, silent white meadows and trails running parallel to frozen creeks. More than 70 kilometers of designated winter walking trails are a sure way to start discovering winter.
Sledding
Ride like the wind down the 4 kilometres long, natural sledding run from Gampen to Nasserein on-board traditional wood toboggans. It’s hard for anyone not to emit a light-hearted giggle as you sail down the hill, catching a bit of air as you roll over gentle bumps. Sleds are available for rental from Rodelhütte.
Ice Skating & Alpine Curling
Ice skating is a great leisure activity to do in St. Anton with friends and family. Lace up your skates and hit the ice in front of the Arlberg well.com Center, located within easy walking distance from the Hotel am Dorfplatz. For a different way of winter fun, try your hand at the folklore version of ice curling, played on the ice rink without the needs of skates. Skate rentals and refreshments are available at the ice skating rink.
Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides
